Musings, Blessings, Etc.

Just thought I would share a few of the things God has been blessing my heart with lately ~

From Tozer:

Glorious Contradictions

~ The Christian is dead & yet he lives forever. He died to himself & yet he lives in Christ.

~ The Christian saves his own life by losing it, and he is in danger of losing it by trying to save it.

~ It is strange but true that the Christian is strongest when he is weakest & weakest when he is strongest. When he gets down on his knees thinking he is weak, he is always strong.

~ The Christian is in least danger when he is fearful & trusting God & in the most danger when he feels the most self-confident.

~ He is most sinless when he feels the most sinful, and he is the most sinful when he feels the most sinless.

~ The Christian actually has the most when he is giving away the most; and in all of these ways, the Christian is simply putting into daily practice the teachings & example of Jesus Christ his Savior & Lord.

I have also been blessed by some of the rich imagery & adjectives that God uses in the Psalms to express His care for us & delight in us. Here is a smattering:

“…with the Lord there is mercy, & with Him is abundant redemption.” Ps. 130:7

“…those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” Ps. 34:10

“They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and you give them drink form the river of your pleasures.” Ps. 36:8

“…Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds…” Ps. 36: 5

“ How precious is Your lovingkindness O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.” Ps. 36:7

“…we went through fire & through water, But you  brought us out to rich fulfillment.Ps. 66:12

As if that is not enough – here are a few other things I am praising God for!

~ Spring is here & I am enjoying the sunshine, budding trees, flowers, smell of freshly mown grass, birds chirping, tulips & daffodils being sold all along the sidewalks on my way to class!

~ God has burdened other hearts with the need for a Pro-life ministry here in Odessa and we are moving forward with a May 7th meeting to present our ideas to some key church leaders! It is exciting to be thinking about all the possibilities & to see how God is already at work.

I will conclude with that…although there is more! Isn’t our God good? Even in the midst of life’s challenges He continues to shower us with His abundance & to truly satisfy the needs of our hearts.
