All in a Week

Holly Friesen on May 12, 2012

I actually had my camera out several times this week, so thought I would share some of this weeks happenings. This is not necessarily a typical week - my life is not always this eventful! :-)
Started off on Sunday with special visitors at our church. Our church has a weekly ministry at a nearby home for the elderly and disabled. Some of the ladies from that home came to our church on Sunday and shared some special music with us.
On the way to clinic on Tuesday we enjoyed the beautiful spring weather and all the fresh green and flowers. We also enjoyed the rare sighting of a fox!
This little clinic patient was just too cute not to be photographed!
Wednesday was a holiday to celebrate defeating the Germans in WWII. Our church young people celebrated with a "Mayovka" (May picnic).

I was blessed to be able to make the trip with a group from a church here that was going to a funeral. I enjoyed been able to travel with a group of friends. I wasn't so sure about having to attend the funeral as part of the deal - but as it turned out the funeral was for a very well known and respected church leader in his 80's and there were people there from many former soviet union countries. He spent around 25 years in jail for his faith during soviet times.
I was especially blessed to hear his grandson speak and challenge the young people to follow in his grandfather's steps - saying that it was now time for them to step up and become the next leaders for the church.
After the funeral we enjoyed some time in the city's amazing park! Some of my travelling companions! They were great! Some of my travelling companions! They were great!
